"The time
in your arms, at your breast, and in your bed is a very short time
in the total life of your child, yet the memories of love and availability last a lifetime."
- Dr. William Sears
Studies show that sling babies cry LESS and learn MORE.
- Babywearing reduces crying and fussiness
by over 50%!!! The original study by Hunziker and Barr (1986) at portareipiccoli.com is widely quoted. This study discovered
an average reduction of 51% in crying and fussing during the evening hours, when babies were carried an extra 2 hours per
day.
- Babies that are carried, frequently fall asleep quickly and will
usually sleep longer and deeper in the comfort of their sling.
- Babywearing
improves digestion and also helps colic and acid reflux symptoms.
- Babywearing
develops the muscles needed for your baby to sit, stand and walk.
- Does
babywearing promote bonding and attachment? Check out this link to a study done on this topic...
Attachment Study
Babies were meant to be held...
Infants are born with the Moro Reflex. They instinctively cling onto their mother when being carried
around all day. There have also been studies done in orphanages where infants fail to thrive, or even perish, when not held
often enough.
Dr. Sears is the doctor who frequently uses the term "attachment parenting"
and is a big fan of babywearing. He is the father of eight children, as well as the author of over 30 books on childcare.
On his website, he talks about how a baby has 9 months in the womb and another 9 months in an 'outside' womb. Infants
are so much more content while in the presence of their mother and a Ladybugz
Sling can help you be close to your baby, while still tending to tasks around the house with both hands free.

I have to include a link to a webinar called Cosleeping: Featuring James McKenna, Lysa
Parker, Barbara Nicholson and Paul Fleiss. It has some interesting information regarding co-sleeping and bedsharing.
If you have an extra hour to spare, it is a good listen!

Breastfeeding is simple and easy to do in a Ladybugz Sling. No muss, no fuss. Loosen the fabric by pulling up on the ring and nurse your baby discreetly
right inside the sling in the cradle position! For extra reassurance, you can use the tail as a cover. Once you are used to
it, you can even walk around while nursing. I have even nursed my baby while waiting in line at the grocery store without
anyone even knowing!
